Akima A. Brown

Founder & Executive Director

Akima A. Brown

Filmmaker, equity advocate, mother and caregiver, Akima A. Brown (she/they), is a self-proclaimed “artist-activist”. Her work of nearly twenty years spans the public and private sectors, and has centered on equity, inclusion, and access needs. In addition to her role as founder of Reel Families for Change, Akima is also the Chief Principal of BTG Multimedia Group (a for-profit social enterprise that aims to disrupt the accessibility pipeline for underrepresented populations in the film and television industry).

Sarah Lutot

Sarah Lutot

Sarah Lutot is a recent graduate from the University of Delaware with a dual degree in Women & Gender Studies and English, and an avid champion of equity and inclusion efforts. Since starting with Reel Families in Spring 2022, Sarah has supported the publicity, outreach, and relationship building efforts for a broad range of campaigns and initiatives including the Delaware Collective for Creative Economy, the Work-Life Sustainability Summit, the bi-weekly newsletter, and several articles and press releases.

Trevor McPherson

Trevor McPherson comes to Reel Families for Change (RFC) with close to a decade of non-profit experience. Trevor has worked for various social causes from housing insecurity to domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy. Trevor brings to RFC a strong passion for systemic change, building longstanding partnerships, and a love for giving those a voice who are often overlooked.

Erin Scudder

Erin Scudder joins Reel Families for Change as Assistant for Special Projects. She brings more than a decade of administrative and operational experience. A mom-to-be and wife of a filmmaker, Erin Scudder is familiar with the treacherous state of the film industry. In this role, she oversees the organization's day-to-day affairs and aids with operational logistics to help us in our work to bring meaningful change to working families, like hers, in the screen industry.

Aisha Allen

Aisha Allen is a proud filmmaker, mother, and wife. She says, “As a mother and filmmaker… I know the guilt that comes along with choosing to be present at a production meeting instead of a baseball game. I also know the joy that comes with seeing your blood, sweat and tears – your labor of love – displayed on the Big Screen after months of being pregnant with an idea.” As our newest Public Ambassador, serving the Central States, Aisha will be helming the charge in her region to support working families in film.

Pacific Region

Linia Hardy

Meet Linia Hardy, our new Pacific Region Public Ambassador. She’s worked in the LA film and television community for the past six years and is a member of the Art Directors Guild Local 800. Having witnessed her colleagues’ challenges with balancing family and filmmaking – especially for women and individuals who identify as BIPOC – Linia wants to make a difference. She says, “As a future caregiver, I want to be part of building something better; a world where people can work in the screen industry and commit to their families.”

Nanci Kaiser

Nanci Kaiser is the Public Ambassador for the Mid-Atlantic Region at Reel Families for Change. She currently resides in Maryland with her 3 children and husband where she spends her time working in the independent film space as an actor, writer, and mom-manager.

Julianna Pitt

Julianna Pitt is an award-winning Director, Executive Producer, Creator, Screenwriter and Actress. She is also a proud mom! Raising children and having a successful career shouldn't be about making choice between the two, and womxn should be able to comfortably enjoy both. She is hopeful for a living wage, better insurance coverage, and industry-wide mutual aid for her mother colleagues... and now, as our newest Public Ambassador in the Southeast Region, she's working with us to help make it a reality.

Sabrina now finds joy in using her technical experience to help clients at ALL income and asset levels manifest the life of their dreams.

Dinah J. Louissaint

Dinah J. Louissaint

Dinah J. Louissaint is a long-time advocate of mothers, children, and families. She has taken particular interest in the needs of America's working familis and the ways in which employers can support our most vulnerable populations as they provide care and/or age.
From her work in the NYC Dept. of Health and Human Services to her community service efforts around employer-supported re-entry programs for parents returning from leave, Dinah has always had an interest in the welfare of working families.

Rayne Marcus

Rayne Marcus has more than 25 years of industry experience with work sites spanning New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Atlanta. In addition to her role as a screen industry professional, Rayne serves on the Board of Directors for Reel Families for Change where she supports public awareness campaigns and coalition building initiatives like the Family Care Grant and the seasonal podcast Reel Talk, the organization’s spotlight speaker series.

Mackenzie Irick Milks is a passionate researcher and advocate of inclusive branding; working with public and private entities to develop core messaging around their goals that align with their brand's valuies. As RFC’s Board President, Mackenzie helms the Executive Committee and has aided in the creation of our core values, principles, and pillars of practice, which have helped to ensure the credibility, impact, and longevity of our family-focused organization.
